Dear Unintendedchoice, Themoonisdown and LTTers,

Never trust a girl with crazy eyes, nor let her blog

I know what you must be thinking: who let Brookelockart get control of the blog? After deciding that I wanted to throw a surprise blog party, I spent the last two weeks cracking passwords (hint: has to do with Robsten, magicness and Bella’s birthday). So folks, spike your coffee and raise a glass to three fabulous years of laughter, tears and images that will never leave you (two words: Snail Penis).

As part of the anniversary surprise, I reached out to regulars and some old time friends who jumped at the chance to reminisce about our favorite LTT posts (I may have also promised some punch and pie.)

Please introduce yourselves and when did you start reading LTT/LTR?

Read_or_sleep: Summer 2009
Cazza: March 2009
PlaneFriend: Reading Since: About 5 seconds after this post. When I saw Stephenie was going to have fansites interview her, I decided to go looking at the fansites. All the others I just glanced at, read a page or two, and never went back to again. Within days, I was reading most of the LTT backlogs…realized I knew UC a few weeks later, started writing for y’all occasionally, and the rest in history.
Stacey: March 2010
LonestarKendall: March 2009
Rachel B, formerly GriffsSayWhat: Winter 2009
Alice_NaA  – Bella_NaA : A  long long time ago, when palatial pads and hot pocket fortresses where yet to be built, Summit was not to blame, TomStu still shaved, Bobbygee shared his wisdom, AmanDUH  was working her living room corners, the Pattinson pants were in style, and Oregano was not just an Italian herb.
superhumanmoron: January 2009
MrsKowski: I’ve been reading since March of 2009. The post that started it all for me was the “This is how you found us? Vol. 2“  it was linked on NewMoonMovie.org – my world has not been the same since I made the decision to click on that link.
Snowwhitedrifted: January 2010
Janetrigs: February 2009
Allryans: April 2009, actually since THIS post.
Operarose: August 2009
TeamSeth: September 16, 2009

Well, I guess this is what happens with an open ended question. For the record, I’ve been reading since March 2009.

We know that LTT gave laugh lines to Stephenie Meyer, what posts made you screen spray your drink while reading?

worse when it comes out your nose

PlaneFriend: I laughed so hard while reading this post that I flatout cried, no joke. I mean, Barbies in lingerie? Blacking out a Barbie’s girl parts? Flipping hilarious.
Stacey: This is an old one, but one of the first that I read that made me laugh so hard that it woke up the baby I was nursing at 2 A.M and made him start crying. So while that won’t help me win mother of the year, that post did bring some fun at actually being awake at 2 A.M.
Rachel B: I really loved seeing all the funny stuff people thought up for this contest, even though I was not creative enough to think of anything!  And, at the time the “imma let you finish” was ALL the rage!!
Bella_NaA: Oooh, the Imma-contest. Endless fun we had with that one. There were some really, REALLY good entries, including the one that Gil Birmingham ended up tweeting about!
Mrskowski: I think a memorable screen spray post was the “Ok …we gotta discuss it …it’s time” post – can you believe I’d never seen Last Tango in Paris before this post? …I could have probably answered this same question with any LTT Mailbag post or any My Twilight Confessions post as well – I die at all of them.
SWD: Breaking dawn Barbies
Janetrigs: The epic Calliope (@CalliopeBlabs) , UC and Moon Break Down of the New Moon trailer and we learned that Tweed is indeed Serious.
Operarose: Any of the posts with responses to letters LTT received from Twi fans who thought to the cast or Stephenie. I love the equal parts biting sarcasm, snark and sometimes sweetness involved in UC & Moon’s responses to the rather confused fans. Example

Cry Baby

Those certainly bring back lots of memories, also some inappropriate laughing at work. On the flip side, which post made you cry more than Eric Yorkie in New Moon?

Read_or_sleep: I have nothing coming up from memory.  Obviously I am a cruel, heartless person.
PlaneFriend: This post because I want to read a Leah sequel THAT badly. Truly, I have a ridiculous affinity for Leah. I want to get inside her head. I want to see her puke over the pedophile Jake-Nessie imprinting. I want her to fall for someone other than Sam!
Lonestarkendall: Just another example of how Twi brought us LTT/LTRs together across the country, supporting one another and making us laugh.
Alice_NaA: Don’t remember the exact post, but at the time of our twidiction high, every post reminding us that the twilight-period will come to an end, made us sad.
Bella_NaA: And now, every post that reminds us how LTT has become so much more than a funny blog about Twilight but also a place where we have made new friends!
SHM: I can’t think of one in particular.  Usually the ones that talk about all the friendships made through LTT.  And we all sing “Friends are Friends Forever”.
MrsKowski: it’s a toss up between “Twilight Moments that have shaped us” and about Leghitch2010
SWD: Well, this one was emotional for me, because I did the shirts. It’s AWESOME to see them on you all!!
Janetrigs: Freya describes how we all feel, in that LTR/LTT has brought us all together as friends.
Operarose: MidnightCyn’s story. Probably one of the most unforgettable stories I’ve ever read, anywhere, period. I was so inspired that Twilight helped distract her from a difficult time in her life.
TeamSeth: Same post as above.  This is one of the first posts I read, and I thought every Thursday was a tear jerker (due to post title). Luckily that wasn’t the case, but this will always be the most teardrops are fallin’ down my cheek post and same goes for its comments. But what makes it even more tear-jerker to look back on is that Cyndi DID go see New Moon, even though she didn’t think it was a possibility.

Time to dry those eyes and put on Cullen smile! Which posts were so 2nd-hand embarrassing that you prayed that Stephenie Meyers didn’t read?

This never crosses half of the fandom's mind.

Stacey: I still have nightmares of the picture you have of the fake baby coming out of that woman’s stomach like in Alien and I wonder if Stephenie does too knowing that is what people think about when reading the birthing scene. (Oh and please don’t get me started about the Taylor Lautner cudding with the little girl pictures. I know they are like “brother and sister” at this at this point of imprint, but seeing that someone actually created pictures of it? Yikes!)
Lonestarkendall: Three syllables: A-man-duh
Rachel B: Because I would be so embarrassed if I knew SM saw me dressed up like that chick.  Just, no.
Bella_NaA: The one time we called the engagement ring from Eclipse a cheese grater ring. Sure, I snorted coffee all over my screen because it really IS a cheese grater ring, but I couldn’t help thinking that Stephenie’s feelings might be hurt juuuuust a little, since she personally picked the ring and all.
MrsKowski: Honestly, I’m not 2nd hand embarrassed for Stephenie to see any of these posts. She created the world we laugh in …so really what’s there to hide?  If there were any topics I probably wouldn’t really have the guts to discuss with her it would be the whole period/Edwards hightened sense of smell issue. Cuz really, for the most part I like to pretend that stuff doesn’t matter.
SWD: Well, this was a letter from me. It’s where “Fade to Sad” originated.
Janetrigs: A Dear Stephanie Letter that points out in the 1st couple of lines, “You may overuse irrevocably.”
Allryans: Dear Lord.
Operarose: Anything having to do with a countdown to Taylor turning 18. And my subsequent comments that may or may not have revealed my adoration of him. (He’s adorable! I couldn’t help it!)

So now that we pretty much guaranteed Stephenie saw all of those post, let’s discuss controversial posts. Which ones were you sure would have caused Armageddon in the fandom?

Read_or_sleep: The best fandom argument will always be Robsten/Nonsten/Don’tgiveacrapsten.   However, I would say that back in December of 2009 UC/Moon came pretty close 2nd with the “Can KStew act” post.
Planefriend: I know I wrote it, but I really thought people would hate me! I was pleasantly surprised that no one threw anything at me, tried to find out where I lived so they could kill me, etc.
LonestarKendall: THIS POST BROUGHT OUT THE WHACKADOOS.
Rachel B: Any post that was in the least bit slightly negative about KStew.  The stew lovers HATED those, no sense of humor!  For example: the acting post
Alice_NaA: Stephenie Meyer coming out of the LTT closet and UC and Moon being invited for an exclusive interview.  UC and Moon have always been an easy target in the fandom, because of their honesty, down-to-earth spirit, mock political incorrectness and wittiness. Rare and unappreciated qualities in a fandom dominated by crazy teenagers, horny mums and Krisbians who think sucking up to the stars gets them in Rob  Kristen  Stephenie  or even Justin Chon’s pants places. Having the queen bee of the fandom reach out to them and invite them at the cool kids’ table… Buuuurrrrrnnnn.
Bella_NaA: I second that! Well said!
MrsKowski: Again, a toss up! I think this is a toss up between the “I don’t get it – The Kristen Stewart Edition, which really brought out all the Krisbians and their pitchforks and the “Over it! Goodbye Runaways and Remember Me, give me back my Twilight” post which brought out some of the meaner sides of our normal little LTT/LTR bubble. Events I’ll never forget? One word: LegHitch2010 Two words: Jazz Hands! No really, that whole (bowel) movement about respecting rob and showing your support by taking a picture of yourself with your hands over your face was, in my opinion, one of this fandom’s more laughable moments. Freya speaks my mind and had me snarfuling my coffee this day. And who could forget the day back in May of 2009 when the shirtless pictures of Rob filming New Moon managed to break the twitters, and jam up just about every website on the net. The whole world skipped a beat or three.
Janetrigs: Moon’s pic of Ron and Stew getting into a cab after her quick ninja pic. Yup, I still have that Life & Style mag. I forgot to get Moon to sign…there’s always next year.
Allryans: A combo of this post  and your Hotel Cafe pics THAT ZOMG OUTTED ROBSTEN … was anything more contentious? Haysus. I had more fun surfing those waves than Yorkie ever did at LaPush, baby.

So much has happened on the blog and twitter. What will you never forget?
Read_or_sleep: THE HAND HOLD.   Don’t make me even link it.   You know we were all zooming in on a grainy picture to see if they were holding hands.
SHM: seriously try to avoid the dramas and whatnot.  But I laugh every time I think of that hater commenter that had to get banned.  TammyO, was it?  Good times.
Aro reading Fanfic  and all the “Jumping Robs
Allryans: I’m going with the most recent one – the Marcus Foster video and Kristen. Wow. Could there possibly be more hate for something so commonplace? Yeesh.

Now that everyone has had a few drinks, time to discuss a favorite subject: Fan Art and Manips. Please share some of your favorites!

Brookie's favorite manips (the ones you'll never forget)

Bella_NaA: I know this is not fan art or a manip, but what I like most is all the LTT vernacular that has become so normal to us that even Stephenie uses it. Big Daddy Lautner, jorts, Twilosophy, Oregano, Nacho… it’s just become so normal, at times I have to make a conscious effort not to use these words in real life (and then having to explain… y’all know how it is).
SWD: The christmas post, lol: and this one, which is how I found LTT!!! I googled “Breaking Dawn” pics, in early 2010. And what especially creeps me out is that little girl looks A LOT like Snow Jr.

Janetrigs: Amazing -  Also this one:
Allryans: just in case you need to know what Edward and Bella would have looked like had she lived when he was human (cause who doesn’t)
Operarose: Not a “favorite” more like “most memorable.” This will never get out of my head, unfortunately. However, I do admire the artist’s skill with the shading and colour palette. That part is sophisticated.
Teamseth: Manip fun

It’s been an amazing three years and we appreciate you SO MUCH. Personally, I am so happy to count you both as close friends. Happy Anniversary!

Love,

Brookie

(I hope that the party didn’t cause too much blog mess!)

Which posts would you say were funniest, tear-jerking, 2nd-hand embarrassing, controversial? Link us to your favorite fan art or manips in the comments!
